5 things I wish I knew before starting a GLP-1

I've spent the last year deep in the research — talking to dermatologists, endocrinologists, and hundreds of women on GLP-1s. Here's what nobody tells you upfront:

1. Your skin will change. Rapid weight loss can cause "Ozempic face" — volume loss in the cheeks and under-eyes. But it's not inevitable. Hyaluronic acid serums, collagen peptides, and strategic facial exercises can help preserve volume.

2. Protein isn't optional. Most women on GLP-1s aren't eating enough protein. You need at minimum 0.7g per pound of body weight to preserve muscle mass. Losing muscle = aging faster.

3. The "right" dose is personal. What works for your friend might wreck you. Titration speed matters. Side effects often calm down after 4-6 weeks at a stable dose.

4. Your hair might thin. Telogen effluvium from rapid weight loss is real. Biotin alone won't fix it — you need adequate iron, zinc, and protein. Get bloodwork done.

5. It's not a magic pill. GLP-1s are a tool. The women getting the best results are the ones pairing it with strength training, smart nutrition, and a solid skincare protocol.

I break down the science behind all of this — plus anti-aging protocols, beauty routines that actually work, and the latest research — inside The Longevity Edit.
