The 3 money rules I wish I knew at 20

I spent my early 20s making every financial mistake in the book. Spent everything I earned, had zero savings, and thought investing was only for rich people.

4 years later, I've built multiple income streams across crypto, virtual real estate, and traditional investing. Here's what actually moved the needle:

Rule 1: Pay yourself first — automatically.

Before rent, before food, before anything — 20% goes straight to savings/investments. Not after bills. Before. If you wait until the end of the month, there's never anything left. Set up an auto-transfer the day you get paid.

Rule 2: Your first $1,000 invested matters more than your first $100,000.

Not because of the returns — but because of the habit. Once you see money working for you (even small amounts), your entire relationship with money changes. You stop seeing it as something to spend and start seeing it as a tool.

Rule 3: Income > budgeting.

Cutting expenses has a floor. Earning more has no ceiling. Instead of obsessing over saving $5 on coffee, spend that energy learning a skill that can make you an extra $500/month. The math isn't even close.

These aren't secrets. But most people still don't do them.

I break down exactly how to implement each of these (with specific tools, accounts, and strategies) inside The Money Lab. If you're in your 20s and serious about building wealth, this is the place.
