The 3 money mistakes almost every 20-something makes
I spent my early 20s making every financial mistake in the book. Here are the 3 biggest ones I see people repeat:
1. Treating savings as "what's left over"
If you save what's left after spending, you'll never save anything. Flip it — save first, spend what's left. Even $50/month adds up to $600/year. That's a flight somewhere nice.
2. Ignoring subscriptions
The average person spends $200+/month on subscriptions they barely use. Go through your bank statement right now. Cancel anything you haven't used in the last 2 weeks.
3. Waiting to "make more money" before saving
This is the biggest trap. There is no magic salary that makes saving easy. The habit matters more than the amount. Start with $20 if that's all you've got.
I wrote a whole guide breaking down practical money-saving strategies for people just starting out. No complicated investing advice — just real, actionable steps to keep more of what you earn.
