My mom is in her 40s, and she restarted her fitness journey more times than I can count. 🏋️‍♀️

What finally made it stick wasn't sheer willpower—it was building a dumb-simple accountability system around herself:

  • A quick weekly check-in

  • A simple way to pick a partner or group that actually matched how she works

  • A realistic backup plan for the weeks she inevitably missed

I realized how hard it can be to stay in shape past 40, so I wrote the whole system down into a guide: Still Standing: The Over-40 Accountability System (because almost everything else out there is just another workout plan in disguise).

I wish I could post her progress photos, but like most African moms, she has zero interest in being online 😂 (Shoutout to all the African moms out there! ❤️).

I saw my mom who is 40s and she restarted fitness more times than I want to admit. What finally made it stick wasn't willpower, it was building a dumb-simple accountability system around herself — a weekly check-in, a clear way to pick a partner or group that actually matched how she works, and a plan for the week she inevitably missed.

I wrote the whole thing up as a guide (Still Standing: The Over-40 Accountability System) because I couldn't find anything like it that wasn't just another workout plan in disguise.

I know it hard to be in shape when you are above 40, but it is do able. and I experienced firsthand.

I wish to show my mom's progress, but she does not like to be online like all Africa moms😂.

I love all African moms shout out to you all. ❤

Ran into a friend last week — 40s, hadn't seen him in a while — and he looked genuinely good. Turns out he'd restarted his fitness routine more times than he'd like to admit, same as most of us, but this time it actually stuck.

What he said made it stick wasn't willpower, it was a dumb-simple accountability system he built around himself — a weekly check-in, a clear way to pick a partner or group that actually matched how he worked, and a plan for the week he inevitably missed.

He ended up writing the whole thing up as a guide (Still Standing: The Over-40 Accountability System) because he couldn't find anything like it that wasn't just another workout plan in disguise. It's $19 if you want the full system — link below. Either way, happy to answer questions if you're in the same "start strong, disappear by week 3" loop he used to be in.

Wrote a short guide on staying consistent with fitness after 40 — not a workout plan, just the accountability system (weekly check-ins, picking the right partner/group format, what to do after a missed week). $19, link below if it's useful to anyone here.
