If your teen is on Instagram, Message Requests is the hole in the fence.

Anyone can slide into that folder. Predators know it. Teens often don't tell you because they think they'll lose the phone.

Do this tonight:

1. Sit with them and open Instagram → Settings → Messages.

2. Turn on the strictest message filtering you can.

3. Tell them the rule out loud: if a stranger DMs, they screenshot it and show you. No punishment for showing you. Punishment for hiding it.

The goal isn't to spy. It's to make the unsafe stuff visible before it becomes a crisis.
