The 3 marketing channels every solopreneur should master before spending a dollar on ads
Most freelancers and solopreneurs burn money on ads before they've built any organic foundation. Here's the framework I use with every new project:
1. Your offer page (not your website)
Forget building a full website. You need one page that clearly explains what you do, who it's for, and why someone should care. If you can't convert warm traffic here, ads won't save you.
2. One social platform, played correctly
Pick the platform where your ideal clients already scroll. Don't try to be everywhere. Post 3-5x/week with a mix of:
Results you've gotten (proof)
Lessons you've learned (authority)
Hot takes on your industry (engagement)
Consistency beats virality every time.
3. Direct outreach (yes, DMs work)
This is the most underrated channel. Engage genuinely with potential clients' content for a week before reaching out. When you do, lead with value — not a pitch.
Master these three before you touch paid traffic. You'll have a conversion system that actually works when you scale.
I break down playbooks like this every week inside The Playbook. If you're a freelancer or solopreneur trying to figure out marketing without an agency budget, come through.
