5 Things I Wish Someone Told Me About Postpartum Weight Loss

After having my baby, I spent months doing everything "right" and seeing zero results. Here's what actually moved the needle:

1. Your hormones run the show, not calories.

Postpartum cortisol and prolactin can make weight loss nearly impossible if you're undereating and overtraining. Stop punishing your body.

2. Sleep > supplements.

I know, easier said than done with a newborn. But even 20 extra minutes of rest did more for my metabolism than any fat burner ever could.

3. Protein timing matters more than total protein.

Spreading 25-30g across 4 meals kept me full, stabilized my blood sugar, and stopped the 3pm snack spiral.

4. Walking is the most underrated exercise postpartum.

Not HIIT. Not bootcamp. Walking 30 minutes a day while my baby napped changed my body composition more than anything else in those first 6 months.

5. It takes longer than Instagram says — and that's fine.

The "bounce back" timeline is a lie. Sustainable results took me 8-10 months, and I'm stronger now than I was before pregnancy.

If any of this resonates, I put everything I learned into a step-by-step guide. No fluff, no gimmicks — just what actually works for postpartum moms.
