CPI FUNDAMENTAL ANALYSISπŸ“Œ

For those TRADING XAUUSD or XXXUSD pairs, here is the play.

14:29, one minute before the number: DO NOTHING.

Why?

CPI is different from NFP. Headline is expected HOT at 3.6 to 3.7%, driven by energy. We have two numbers pulling in opposite directions in one release.

Core is expected COOL at 0.2% for the month. Hot headline is bearish for gold, cool core is bullish for gold. The two numbers cancel each other out before the release, so there is no edge at 14:29. Pure coin flip.

DXY is currently BULLISH

XAUUSD is currently BEARISH, and it is BEARISH on the DAILY TF.

Gold is stuck between 4165 and 4216, every push above 4200 getting sold.

14:30, when the data drops: read CORE first, headline second. A hot headline will not surprise anyone, energy is already known. The surprise lives in core. If core comes in soft at 0.1% or below, gold buys. If core comes in hot at 0.3% or above, gold sells. If core lands in line at 0.2%, chop. That is the risk of CPI, headline and core can point in opposite directions. Keep in mind, there is a HIGHER PROBABILITY for PRICE to spike both sides at 1430pm CAT before going in ONE DIRECTION. Remember, we have two numbers pulling in opposite directions in one release. Headline is expected hot, core is expected cool. BIG MONEY movers ( this includes algo ) trade the headline first, so the first spike goes one way.

Then the real money reads the core and the price reverses the other way. One release, two conflicting signals, so price tags both sides of the range before it picks a real direction.

That is exactly why the first spike at 14:30 is the most dangerous candle of the whole release, and why we wait for the retest.

14:31 onwards: do not chase the first spike. Let it print, let it retest and trade the reaction, not the headline. Soft core, buy the break above 4216 toward 4270. Hot core, sell the break below DAILY key Level of Support toward 4000.

Mixed report, do nothing. And keep size small.

Above all, PRICE ACTION speaks, and it shows it's hand. Follow PRICE ACTION before, and after CPI.

Take my advice: stay out of NFP today. πŸ“Œ

Trading GOLD on NFP is GAMBLING

If however you want to gamble, here is the play.

14:29, one minute before the number: BUY gold.

Why?

Consensus expects only 87K to 95K jobs, a soft number, and the market is already positioned for it with the dollar sitting at 18 month highs and gold already dumped from 4400 this week.

DXY is currently BULLISH

Everyone is loaded short gold into this release. XAUUSD is currently BEARISH, and its BEARISH on the DAILY TF

The August 162K print is also expected to be revised down, which makes the whole report read soft. Add US Iran tension with Brent above 102 and you have a bid sitting under gold. Better odds, better payoff.

14:30, when the data drops: if the number lands inside that 87K to 95K zone, gold buys, because the crowded dollar trade gets no new fuel and shorts cover into it. But if it beats consensus hard, 120K plus with wages firm, the dollar rips and gold sells. That is the risk you signed up for at 14:29.

14:31 onwards: do not chase the first spike. Let it print, let it retest and trade it towards were the current TREND is heading to. And keep size small.

We said it.πŸ“Œ

We told you why you should buy GOLD at 14:29pm CAT into NFP.

Why?

Everyone was loaded short, dollar sitting at 18 month highs, gold already dumped from 4400 that week, consensus expecting a soft 87K to 95K, and August's 162K begging for a downward revision. GOLD was already BEARISH from the DAILY TF to the LOWER TF.

Then the data dropped. 29K jobs added. Unemployment up to 4.2%. Wages cooled to 0.1%. August revised down to 133K.

Everything we anticipated happened. Gold broke above 4200 price level, from 4186 to 4227.

And here is the lesson for next time. You do not have to gamble before the number.

When the data is out, trade the reaction, not the headline. Soft report like this one, buy the break above resistance and ride the momentum. Hot report, sell the break below support. Mixed report, do nothing and let the chop eat somebody else. For my Key levels on XAUUSD, I use the H4 TF if I am to TRADE after the DATA is Out.

Always wait for BULLISH or BEARISH PRICE ACTION to present itself before you make an ENTRY.

Never chase the first spike. Let it print, let it retest on the M5 TF, then enter. Mark your levels before the release, whatever they are that day, and let PRICE ACTION tell you which side.

This is why we read positioning before we read charts. Price Action is King.

If you are still unprofitable, it is rarely a strategy problem. I have helped traders who can analyze the market well and know how to enter. Their problem was never the strategy. It was this.

Evaluate yourself:

  1. You lack Risk Management. You open too many trades on a small account. You over risk. Your position sizing is bigger than your account. Your stop loss is too wide. Yes, your stop loss must give your trade room to breathe before it moves in your favor. But it must never be too wide.

  1. You lack patience to let your trade hit TP. You lack patience to let your trade play out. You quickly close when you face a drawdown that has taken long to turn to profit. Even in a drawdown, as long as your stop loss has not been taken out, there is no need to rush out. Be patient to analyze your pair before you make a Trade set up. Be patient to wait for your confirmations before you enter. Let the market come to you. Let the market play out. Wait for Price Action to show you its hand.

  1. You cannot control your mind. You cannot control your emotions. You cannot control your mind when you face a big loss, or when your trade is in a drawdown. You do not know how to relax when you win. Trading does not reward feelings and emotions. It punishes those who are impatient. It punishes those who lack the ability to control themselves. It punishes those who think they can never lose. It punishes and humbles those who think a stop loss means nothing.

  1. You revenge trade. You take a loss and jump straight into another trade to recover it. That is not a plan. That is emotion with a lot size. The worst trades of your life will come right after your biggest losses if you do not step away. Accept the loss, close the charts, and come back when your head is clear. The market will still be there tomorrow.

  1. You never journal your trades. You keep making the same mistakes every week because you never write them down. A trader without a journal is a student who never checks his marks. Screenshot your entries, write your reason, note your emotions, then review every weekend. That is where your real education lives.

  1. You overtrade. You force entries when there is no clean setup because you want to feel busy in the market. More trades do not mean more money. The market pays you for good decisions, not for activity. If your setup is not there, sitting out is the trade.

Fix these and your strategy will finally start paying you.

Three weeks ago we locked in the NZDUSD setup and let Price Action do the talking. Three weeks later, TP got hit. I have never seen anything like Price Action in my life.

The charts called it. The market confirmed it. This is why I trade Price Action and nothing else.

TRADING FUTURESπŸ“Œ

First of all, not all brokers offer futures trading. But offers FUTURES CFDs TRADING.

When trading futures, understanding ticker symbols and contract lifecycles is essential, especially when moving between technical analysis and actual trade execution. For instance, a ticker like ESZ26 represents a specific, exchange-traded E-mini S&P 500 contract (ES) that expires in December (Z) of the year 2026 (26). Because futures contracts are not perpetual and have finite lifespans, exchanges use specific single-letter codes for every month of the year. Throughout a calendar year, these contract codes shift systematically: January contracts use F, February uses G, March uses H, April uses J, May uses K, June uses M, July uses N, August uses Q, September uses U, October uses V, November uses X, and December uses Z. As a trader, you navigate these active delivery cycles depending on when you are placing your trades.

Now, to effectively trade a specific contract like ESZ26, your workflow must begin with the continuous futures chart, typically designated simply as ES. If you tried to analyze multi-month or multi-year price history directly on a specific expiration ticker like ESZ26, your charts would show massive gaps and dead data because that individual contract only trades actively for a limited window. Therefore, professional traders always perform their top-down technical analysis, draw multi-timeframe support and resistance levels, and study market structure on the continuous ES chart to get a clear historical perspective. Once your analysis on the continuous chart highlights a high-probability trading setup, you transfer those exact visual levels over to your broker platform and place your live order on the active delivery contract, such as ESZ26.

This futures pricing structure shares a powerful parallel relationship with retail CFDs, where institutional arbitrage keeps exchange-traded instruments and over-the-counter (OTC) broker feeds moving in virtual lockstep. Just as S&P 500 futures (ES) mirror retail S&P 500 CFDs like US500, this parallel pricing spans across multiple major financial markets. If you trade gold CFDs (XAUUSD), their price movement is mirrored by COMEX gold futures (GC). Similarly, tech-heavy Nasdaq CFDs track Nasdaq 100 futures (NQ), and Wall Street or Dow Jones CFDs map directly to Dow futures (YM). By using the continuous chart of these underlying futures for your macro perspective and multi-timeframe technical analysis, and then executing your actual orders on the specific front-month contracts, you gain the clarity of exchange-grade data combined with precise execution.

In short, parallel pricing simply means that two different assets move at the exact same price because they track the same thing. For example, futures like the S&P 500 (ES), Nasdaq (NQ), Dow Jones (YM), and Gold (GC) move side-by-side with retail CFDs like US500, US100, US30, and XAUUSD. Because computer programs instantly fix any tiny price differences between them, you can safely analyze the clean charts on the futures side and use those exact levels to trade your CFDs. Remember, everything that you trade on your MT5 account or platform are CFDs.

This is why I urge you guys to spend most of your time learning pure price action trading because it isn't limited to any single pair or asset class. Price action works the exact same way across all markets. It is not bound by a specific timeframe, asset, or condition. When they say 'Price Action is King,' it means its dominance and effectiveness remain unmatched through every trend, market condition, and wave of volatility. The raw artillery of price action is in a league of its own; nothing else even comes close. And we are not even trying to hide this fact, which is why we document every asset pair that we trade on our social media pages.
