The 3 things nobody tells you about coming back from rock bottom

Everyone talks about the comeback. Nobody talks about the weird in-between phase where you’re technically functioning, replying to emails, showing up to meetings, making coffee… but nothing inside you feels quite right.

I’ve been through it. And honestly, here’s what I wish someone told me sooner:

  1. Your old routines won’t work anymore.

You’re not the same person after survival mode. Stop trying to squeeze yourself back into an old version of your life. Build new routines that are smaller, softer, and more honest. A quiet 5-minute check-in with yourself is better than a 90-minute “change your life” routine you’ll quit by Thursday.

  1. You need a Traffic Light system.

Every week, divide your life into three:

🟢 Keep. What’s genuinely helping
🟡 Pause. What needs space, not pressure
🔴 Drop. What’s draining you and you already know it

This alone saved me from the exhausting habit of trying to fix everything at once.

  1. Healing isn’t linear. It’s operational.

You’ll have a beautiful Tuesday and a terrible Wednesday. That’s not failure. That’s information. Adjust. Recalibrate. Continue.

That’s exactly why I built The Rock Bottom Recovery Playbook. Grounded routines, honest boundaries, and a practical 21-day reset for people stuck in the messy middle.

No toxic positivity. No “just think positive.” Just a system for the days when you don’t fully feel like yourself yet.

Happy reading! 🤎
