Why your TikTok views don't translate to sales (and what actually does)

Most DTC brands chase view counts and wonder why revenue doesn't move. Views are a vanity metric — they don't buy anything.

What we actually optimize for with every client:

  1. Save rate — content people bookmark to reference later signals purchase intent, way more than views

  2. Link clicks in bio — track this weekly, not monthly. If it's flat while views climb, your content is entertaining, not converting

  3. Comment sentiment — "where do I buy this" beats 10k likes every time

The fix isn't more content. It's content built around a single next action — every post should point somewhere. Most brands post to "stay active." We post to move people down a funnel.

If you're growing on IG/TikTok but not seeing it in Shopify, that's the gap.

The posting cadence mistake killing most DTC brands' organic reach

I run growth for e-commerce brands on IG/TikTok, and the #1 thing I see brands get wrong isn't content quality — it's cadence inconsistency.

Most DTC accounts post in bursts: 5 reels in a week when the founder gets motivated, then silence for 3 weeks. The algorithm punishes this hard. It's not about volume, it's about a signal that you're a reliable account worth recommending.

What actually moves the needle:

  • 3-4x/week minimum, forever. Not 10x one week and 0 the next. Consistency > bursts.

  • UGC-style > polished ads. Raw, native-feeling clips outperform studio production on these platforms almost every time for DTC.

  • Hook in the first 1.5 seconds. If your first frame is a logo or slow pan, you've already lost 40% of viewers.

  • Repurpose relentlessly. One good product demo can become 5+ pieces of content across different hooks/angles. Don't burn creative energy making everything from scratch.

  • Track saves and shares, not just likes. Those are the signals that actually predict algorithmic reach for product-based content.

If you're a brand doing $10k-$500k/mo and your social hasn't moved the sales needle, it's almost always a cadence/consistency problem before it's a creative problem. Fix the machine before you fix the art.
