The coworker you hate is not the real problem
The name is already in your head.
You have not told anyone. You have smiled in meetings. You have rewritten emails six times so you do not sound "difficult." You have gone home and replayed a sentence they said in a tone they will never remember.
That is not pettiness. That is a professional trying to stay professional while someone else spends your attention for free.
HR is not a plan. Quitting is not a plan. Being the bigger person is how this lasted this long.
What works is smaller and quieter: a script for the next meeting. An email that draws a line without looking like a fight. A way to say no to their work without looking uncommitted. And a career that does not depend on surviving them forever.
You do not need a personality transplant. You need language, and you need it before the next time your jaw clenches.
