I started Three and Beyond after getting burned by three different fragrance subscription boxes that all did the same thing: throw a random bottle in a nice box and call it "curated."

Here's what actually makes a fragrance box worth $39/month instead of a waste of a drawer:

1. Scent profiles, not surprises. We sort every fragrance into 5 profiles (Fresh & Aromatic, Floral & Powdery, Woody & Oriental, Gourmand & Sweet, Bold & Niche). You tell us which ones you gravitate toward, and every box builds on that — it should feel like it was picked by someone who knows you, not a warehouse algorithm.

2. Note breakdowns, not marketing copy. Every bottle ships with a scent card showing top/heart/base notes. If you don't know why a perfume smells the way it does, you can't tell if you'll actually like the next one.

3. Community over customer service. The best fragrance intel comes from other people wearing the stuff, not a brand's Instagram captions. That's why reviews and the members chat are the actual product, not an afterthought bolted onto a storefront.
