2. PROC SQL — Yes, you need SQL even inside SAS. Most hiring managers want to see you can write complex joins, subqueries, and aggregations without Googling every line. If you can write PROC SQL fluently, you're ahead of 80% of applicants.

3. Macro programming — This is the separator. Anyone can write a one-off analysis. But can you automate it? Can you build a macro that runs the same report across 50 different variables? That's what gets you promoted from "analyst" to "the person they can't lose."
