The night-before study method that actually works

If you’re a college student, you’ve done this: open an 80-slide deck at 11pm, scroll, panic, highlight random sentences, sleep 3 hours, walk into the exam anyway.

Re-reading the whole deck is the slowest way to study. You already sat through the lecture. You don’t need the slides again — you need the ideas, the confusing parts explained, and a way to test yourself.

What I do instead:

  1. Pull the 10–15 slides that actually matter (definitions, diagrams, anything the lecturer repeated).

  2. Write a one-page summary in my own words. If I can’t explain a slide in one sentence, I don’t understand it yet.

  3. Turn those sentences into questions. Not “what is X” — “when would I use X instead of Y.”

  4. Quiz myself until I stop guessing.

That’s the whole loop. Summary → explanations → questions → quiz.

I built Tob-ob so you can do that from a slide deck in minutes instead of two hours. Upload the PDF, get the kit, sit the quiz, go to sleep.

If your midterms are close, start with the class you’re most behind in. One deck. One quiz. Then the next.
