The 3 ChatGPT prompts that actually save solopreneurs time (and the 97 that don't)
I've built and sold prompt packs for a while now, and here's the truth nobody tells you: most "AI prompt libraries" are bloated with prompts you'll use once, ever.
After going through hundreds of client workflows, three categories consistently save real hours every single week:
1. Client Onboarding Sequences — A single prompt that turns a messy discovery call transcript into a scoped proposal, timeline, and kickoff email. This alone used to take me 45+ minutes per client.
2. Content Batching — One prompt, fed a topic + your voice notes, that outputs a week of social posts in your actual tone (not generic AI-speak). The trick is feeding it 3 examples of your best-performing past posts as reference, not just a vague "write like me" instruction.
3. Admin Triage — A prompt that takes your inbox dump and sorts it into "reply now," "delegate," and "ignore," with drafted responses for the first bucket. This is the one people underestimate the most.
Everything else — the "100 prompts to grow your Instagram" style packs — mostly gets used twice and forgotten.
If you're building your own prompt system: focus on the recurring, annoying, 30-90 minute tasks in your week. That's where AI actually pays for itself. Anything you'd only do once isn't worth automating.
We just packaged our version of this (200+ prompts + Notion automation templates, organized by the workflow they solve, not by vague topic) if you want the shortcut — but even if you build your own, focus there first.
