Why most retail scalpers blow up — and the fix that's boring but works
Been building and trading systematic strategies for a while, and the pattern behind most blown accounts is almost always the same: people copy an entry signal off YouTube and skip the two things that actually matter — position sizing and exit rules.
A strategy without a hard invalidation point isn't a strategy, it's a hope. Before you ever take a setup, you should know exactly where you're wrong (stop) and exactly where you're right at multiple stages (partial take-profits). That's it. That's 80% of what separates consistent scalpers from the ones refreshing their broker app at 3am wondering where the account went.
The other 20% is repetition — running the same handful of setups on the same pairs/timeframes until they're muscle memory, instead of chasing a new indicator every week.
Packed this exact framework (with the entry/exit rules and risk sizing I actually use) into a PDF pack for traders who want the structure without reinventing it themselves. Happy to answer questions on it below if anyone's curious.
