The click that costs funded traders a fill
If you trade futures on Tradovate with a prop firm, you already know the real enemy is not "missing the big move." It's the extra click.
Apex, TPT, My Funded Futures — same platform problem. You see the bid, you decide, then you hunt the order ticket, change quantity, confirm ATM, and click. By the time the order is in, NQ has already given the tick you wanted to someone who wasn't mouse-navigating.
I used to swing for the fences. Most of the time I missed. The traders who last on a trailing drawdown take what the market gives, one micro at a time. That only works if order entry is muscle memory.
ATM presets and a quantity HUD are not a strategy. They are the difference between thinking about size and already being sized. Hotkeys for Buy Market / Sell Market / Exit / Close All mean your hands stay on the keyboard while the tape is moving.
Test in sim. Futures can wipe an account. Faster buttons do not make a bad trade good — they just stop the ticket from being the reason you were late.
If you trade Tradovate funded, time how long it takes you to go from "I'm in" to the order actually working. That number is the whole product.
