The 3-message test that breaks a romance-scam script

Most romance and investment scammers are not improvising. They are running a copy-paste play on dozens of people at once.

Here is the pattern:

  1. Fast intimacy. "I've never met anyone like you" in the first hour.

  2. A move off-platform. WhatsApp, Telegram, or a "private" email.

  3. A crisis that needs money. Hospital, customs, crypto, a locked account.

The trap is not arguing with the story. It is asking a question their script cannot answer.

Ask something specific that a real person would know instantly and a script cannot: a detail from an earlier message, a photo they sent, a time zone that does not match the city they claimed.

If they dodge, repeat, or get angry at the question — you are talking to a ghost.

Do not send money to prove a point. Screenshot everything. Report the profile.
