Why your UGC ads stop converting after 2 weeks (and what to do about it)
Ran hundreds of UGC ad campaigns for DTC brands at this point, and there's a pattern almost nobody talks about: ad fatigue kills UGC faster than any other creative format.
A polished brand ad can run for months. A UGC video — because it feels personal and specific — burns out in 10-14 days once your retargeting audience has seen it 3-4 times. Frequency creeps up, CTR drops, CPA climbs. Most brands just... let the ad keep running and wonder why ROAS is tanking.
What actually works:
Batch, don't drip. Get 5-8 UGC videos shot at once with different hooks on the same core offer. Rotate them weekly, not monthly.
Change the hook, not just the creator. The first 3 seconds matter more than who's in the video. Same creator, same product, different hook = feels like new creative to the algorithm and the viewer.
Track hook-rate, not just ROAS. If 3-second view rate drops below ~25%, that specific video is fatigued — kill it before it drags your whole ad set down.
Keep a content calendar, not a content backlog. Brands that treat UGC like an ongoing pipeline (steady weekly drops) consistently outperform brands that do one big shoot per quarter.
If you're spending real money on Meta/TikTok ads and your UGC well is running dry every few weeks, that's not a creator problem — it's a pipeline problem. Happy to answer questions on this if anyone's stuck.
