The math most Underdog players skip before they ever pick a prop
Most people picking player props on Underdog are working off vibes — "he's been hot lately" or "the matchup looks good." That's how you lose slow.
The Edge calculator exists because Underdog's lines aren't always priced efficiently, especially on lower-volume props. The gap between the implied probability of a line and the true probability (based on recent usage rate, opponent defense rank, and pace) is your edge. If that gap is under 3%, it's not worth the bet — variance eats you alive. Over 6-8%, that's where you build a bankroll.
The part nobody talks about: finding the edge is only half of it. The other half is having a system to act on it fast, before the line adjusts, and a way to actually explain your reasoning to people if you're building an audience or affiliate business around this (which is where the real recurring income is — not the bets themselves).
If you want the full breakdown of how I calculate this every day plus the scripts I use to bring new people into Underdog as an affiliate, I put it all together at Underdog Edge Academy. Happy to answer questions on methodology in the comments either way.
