I tracked my Twitter screen time for 30 days. Here's what I found.

Most people don't realize how much time they lose to Twitter. I didn't either — until I tracked it.

The numbers:

  • Average daily time on Twitter: 2 hours 47 minutes

  • Time spent on content I actually wanted to see: ~18 minutes

  • Time lost to rage bait, engagement farming, and algorithmic rabbit holes: the rest

That's roughly 2.5 hours per day of pure noise. Over a month, that's 75+ hours — almost two full work weeks — gone.

So I built something about it. Pause curates your feed to show only the accounts, topics, and conversations you actually care about, and blocks the doomscroll mechanics that keep you trapped.

The goal isn't to quit Twitter. It's to use it on your terms.

If you've ever closed the app and thought "what did I just spend an hour doing?" — Pause is for you.
