Most students pick classes the same way: required core, then whatever fits the schedule.

Job postings don't care about that.

A "Software Engineer" listing wants data structures, SQL, and a shipped project. A "Business Analyst" listing wants Excel, SQL, and stakeholder writing. Those may or may not be in your catalog — and the catalog names rarely match the job language.

Do this before you register next term:

1. Pull 10 listings for the job you actually want. Copy the repeated skills.

2. Line those skills against your completed courses. Be honest. "Intro to CS" is not data structures.

3. The leftovers are your next semester. Not electives. Not vibes.

If the leftovers are huge, that's the signal. Switch tracks now, not after you already paid for year three.
