You do not have a numbers problem. You have a too-many-tabs problem.
Most founders I talk to are not bad at math. They are running a company across Stripe, ads, and a bank app, and none of those products were designed to answer the only question that matters: are we okay this week?
Here is the setup that actually works.
Pick three sources. Stop at three.
Revenue (Stripe). Spend (ads). Cash (bank). That is enough to know if you can hire, if you should cut, or if you should sit still. A twelfth dashboard does not make you smarter. It makes you later.
Read one digest. Not a war room.
If you need a 40-tile Looker board to know whether yesterday worked, the board is the problem. A good morning note is: what moved, what did not, what needs a decision. Everything else is decoration.
Decide on a pulse, not a close.
Accounting is a record. It is supposed to be slow. Operating is not. You should know by coffee whether the business is working — not by the 15th of next month.
That is what we built Vantage to do. If you are still reconciling tabs at 11pm, you are doing the job the software should have done at 7am.
