5 mistakes that kill new clothing resellers (and how to avoid them)

Been in the reselling game for a minute now. Here are the 5 biggest mistakes I see people make when they're starting out flipping clothes on Depop, Poshmark, and eBay:

1. Buying retail and hoping for profit. If your source price is too high, your margins are dead before you even list. You need wholesale connects — not mall prices.

2. Not vetting vendors before ordering. Scam vendors are everywhere. Always start with a small test order. Check reviews, ask for samples, and never wire money to someone you can't verify.

3. Trying to sell everything. Pick a lane — streetwear, vintage, designer, athleisure. Niche down so your store has an identity and repeat buyers know what to expect.

4. Sleeping on packaging and photos. A wrinkled shirt on a messy bed isn't gonna sell. Flat lays, good lighting, and clean packaging separate the amateurs from the earners.

5. Not building a supplier network. One vendor dries up and you're scrambling. The resellers who scale have 5-10+ reliable sources at all times.

I built Dripconnect to solve #1, #2, and #5. Curated, verified fashion vendors so you can focus on selling instead of searching. If you're serious about this, check it out.
