The 3 attack mistakes holding back 90% of TH14-16 players
I've reviewed hundreds of war attacks at this point, and there's a pattern. Most players aren't failing because of bad troops or low heroes — they're failing because of three fundamental mistakes:
1. Deploying everything at once.
Your attack has phases. If you're dropping your entire army in the first 5 seconds, you're gambling, not attacking. Every troop has a job — let the funnelling troops do their thing before you send in the kill squad.
2. Ignoring the base layout.
Copy-pasting a YouTube army without reading the base is the fastest way to a 1-star. Spend 30 seconds identifying the eagle, infernos, and CC position. That alone changes your angle of attack.
3. No plan for the backend.
Most 2-star attacks happen because people plan the entry but not the cleanup. Where are your backend troops going? What happens after the warden ability runs out? Think about the last 30 seconds of the attack, not just the first 30.
If even one of these hit home, come join War Academy — we break down attacks, share base designs, and help each other get better. All levels welcome, zero judgement.
