Your wearable's 'recovery score' is a black box. Here's how to actually own the data behind it.

Most people stare at their Oura/WHOOP/Garmin recovery score every morning without knowing what's actually driving it — or how to build something better on top of it.

Three things I've learned building recovery-score dashboards for coaches and creators:

1. Baseline before you optimize.

You need 14+ days of HRV and RHR data before any "recovery score" means anything. Without a personal baseline, you're just reacting to noise.

2. Automate the pull — don't manually log.

Manual logging dies within a week. The real unlock is wiring your wearable's API/export into a no-code automation stack so your dashboard updates itself daily.

3. Troubleshoot sync issues before blaming physiology.

A "bad recovery score" is often a sync failure, not a bad night's sleep. Check your integration health before you change your training.

If you're building (or want to build) your own recovery-score dashboard — the automation stack, the exact tools, and the troubleshooting steps are inside Recovery Score OS. Drop a question below if you're stuck on the API/automation side — happy to help.
