Why 90% of Traders Lose — And How to Be in the 10%

You've heard the stat: 90% of traders lose money. But WHY?

It's not because the market is rigged. It's because most traders:

❌ Overtrade — Taking 15+ trades a day hoping one will hit

❌ Revenge trade — Trying to "make back" losses with bigger size

❌ Ignore risk — No stop losses, position sizes too large

❌ Chase entries — Buying after a 10% move because of FOMO

❌ Lack a system — Different strategy every week

The 10% who win consistently do the opposite:

✅ Trade less, trade better — 2-4 high-quality setups per week

✅ Accept losses — They're part of the game, not something to avenge

✅ Protect capital — Small, controlled risk on every trade

✅ Wait for their levels — Patience is literally a trading edge

✅ Follow a proven system — Same process, every single day

The gap between losing and winning isn't talent — it's discipline.

This is what we focus on inside Market Movers Club. Real strategies, real risk management, real accountability.

🔥 Which of the losing habits do you struggle with most? Be honest — that's the first step.

Weekly Market Outlook — What I'm Watching This Week

Here's what's on my radar heading into this week:

📊 Key Levels & Setups:

S&P 500 (SPY)

  • Watching the previous weekly high as resistance

  • A clean break above could trigger a continuation move

  • Support sitting at last week's low — if we lose that, expect a deeper pullback

Bitcoin (BTC)

  • Consolidating in a tight range after last week's move

  • I'm watching for a breakout in either direction with volume confirmation

  • Key level: the recent swing high — break above = bullish, reject = short opportunity

Gold (GC)

  • Showing strength with higher lows on the daily

  • If the current support holds, I'll be looking for longs toward the next resistance zone

⚡ Macro Events to Watch:

  • Fed speakers throughout the week

  • Jobless claims Thursday

  • End of month / quarter positioning (expect volatility)

Game plan: I'm staying patient early in the week, letting setups develop. No need to force trades in choppy conditions.

The Biggest Mistake New Traders Make (And How to Fix It)

It's not picking the wrong stocks. It's not using the wrong indicator.

The biggest mistake is trading without a plan.

A trading plan answers these questions BEFORE you enter:

  • What's my entry trigger?

  • Where's my stop loss?

  • What's my profit target?

  • How much am I risking?

  • What's the risk-to-reward ratio?

If you can't answer all 5 before clicking buy or sell, you're not trading — you're guessing.

Here's a simple framework to start:

📝 Pre-trade checklist:

  1. Identify the trend (higher timeframe)

  2. Wait for price to reach a key level

  3. Look for a confirmation signal (candle pattern, indicator crossover, volume spike)

  4. Calculate position size based on stop distance

  5. Execute and walk away

Consistency comes from process, not predictions. Build your plan, follow it, and refine over time.

How I Use TradingView Alerts to Never Miss a Setup

You don't need to stare at charts 12 hours a day. Here's my workflow:

Step 1: Mark your key levels during prep.

Every morning I identify support/resistance zones, trendlines, and areas of interest on the daily and 4H charts.

Step 2: Set TradingView alerts at those levels.

Instead of watching price tick by tick, I let alerts notify me when price reaches my zone. This frees up hours every day.

Step 3: Only act when alerted.

When the alert fires, I drop to a lower timeframe, confirm the setup with my strategy, and execute — or pass. No FOMO, no overtrading.

The result? Fewer trades, higher quality, less screen time, and better mental health.

This is exactly how our signals work inside Market Movers Club — every alert is mapped to a strategy with a clear entry, stop, and target.

🔔 Are you using alerts in your trading? Or still glued to the screen?

3 Risk Management Rules Every Trader Needs to Follow

Risk management is the difference between traders who survive and traders who blow up. Here are the 3 rules I live by:

1. Never risk more than 1-2% per trade.

If your account is $10,000, your max loss on any single trade should be $100-$200. This keeps you in the game even during losing streaks.

2. Always use a stop loss — no exceptions.

"I'll just watch it" is how accounts get wiped. Set your stop before you enter. If you can't define your risk, you don't have a trade — you have a gamble.

3. Cut losers fast, let winners run.

Most traders do the opposite — they hold losers hoping for a bounce and close winners too early out of fear. Flip this habit and your P&L will thank you.

These aren't suggestions. They're survival rules. Master them before you worry about entries and indicators.

How to Install a TradingView Strategy in Under 5 Minutes

Most traders waste hours trying to figure out how to add custom strategies to TradingView. Here's the dead-simple process:

1. Get your Pine Script file (.pine or .txt)

2. Open TradingView → Pine Editor (bottom panel of any chart)

3. Click "Open" → "Import from file" and select your script

4. Click "Add to Chart" — you'll see the strategy overlay instantly

5. Configure settings — click the ⚙️ gear icon to adjust timeframe, risk, and alert sensitivity. Start with 15m or 1H charts.

6. Set alerts — right-click the strategy → "Add Alert" → choose your conditions. Now you get notified on your phone when a signal fires.

That's it. No coding needed.
