The 3 numbers most Whop creators never check on their own payouts
I spend my week in creators' Whop payout dashboards, and the same three blind spots show up almost every time:
1. Gross vs. net revenue confusion. Creators quote their MRR using gross checkout totals, but payment processing fees, affiliate payouts, and chargebacks/refunds routinely eat 5-15% before it ever hits net revenue. If you're not tracking net weekly, your "growth" might actually be flat.
2. Fee categorization for tax season. Whop payout fees, refunds, and affiliate commissions all need to be categorized correctly in your books as they happen — not reconstructed in March. Waiting until tax season to sort a year of transactions is how creators end up overpaying or missing deductible categories entirely.
3. No weekly KPI cadence. The creators who scale predictably check the same 5-7 numbers every single week (net revenue, refund rate, active members, churn, LTV, CAC if running ads). The ones who plateau check their dashboard "whenever" and only notice problems after 2-3 months of decline.
If you're running a Whop business — or thinking about offering payout bookkeeping as a service to creators who don't want to deal with this — the fix is a simple recurring SOP, not more spreadsheets. Happy to share the specific weekly checklist I use if anyone wants it in the replies.
