WiFi TuneUp is a small Mac app that lives in your menu bar, checks your home Wi-Fi properly, and tells you the one setting to change and where it lives on your particular router. It never logs into your router: it tells you what to change, you make the change. Nothing leaves your Mac.
This is early access. It’s been proven on one house and it needs yours.
Install: download the DMG from the Content tab, drag WiFi TuneUp to Applications, open it, click the Wi-Fi icon in the menu bar, and click “Turn on” on the Location card (macOS hides your network name from every app until you do; the app uses Location for nothing else). Then leave it running. The first check takes about a minute; it re-checks every 20 minutes.
“Still checking” means one reading isn’t enough to trust yet. Give it a few checks. The Reconnect button only changes your Mac’s own Wi-Fi connection; it can’t touch your router.
After a day, answer two questions in the Feedback post: did it tell you something you didn’t already know, and did you do what it said? Then click “Copy diagnostics” at the bottom of the popover and paste it in. It never leaves your Mac unless you paste it. And tell us your router brand: we’ve verified the instructions on eero, every other brand is a first.
Requires macOS 13 or later.
