1. IBKR account with futures permissions (1–3 business days to approve). Default IBKR accounts can't trade futures — apply via Client Portal → Settings → Trading

Permissions → Futures (US) before subscribing.

2. CME Real-Time Level 1 data, Non-Professional status (~$1.55/mo). Without it, IBKR sends 15-min-delayed quotes and the bot looks broken — the most common silent failure.

3. Margin for the contracts you trade. Set by IBKR, changes with volatility. Check IBKR's futures-margin page before sizing your account.

4. Windows 10/11 PC — or a $20–40/mo Windows VPS for unattended operation. Mac/Linux not supported in v1.
