We went and found this one. Two weeks in Argentina, time with farmers, cooperative members and family-run producers, learning how mate goes from seed to cup. The growers we work with plant under shade rather than in monoculture rows, and grow without pesticides — the way yerba grew before it was farmed at scale.

Taste
Smooth and green rather than harsh. Balanced palo-to-leaf ratio, so it holds up over a long session without turning bitter. If you’ve only had yerba from a gas station can, this will not taste like that.
