Why I stopped buying $15 recipe e-books and built a 10,000-recipe database instead

Every meal-prep recipe book I bought had the same problem: 40 recipes, half of them repeats of chicken-and-rice, and I'd be bored again in two weeks.

So I built the opposite. 10,000 recipes in one PDF, organized by cuisine, meal type, and macros — so if you're bulking, cutting, or just sick of eating the same 5 meals, you can search "high-protein dinner under 500 cal" and get dozens of real options instantly.

A few things I learned building this that apply to anyone selling a digital product:

  • Volume beats curation for repeat use. A tight 50-recipe book gets used twice. A searchable 10,000-recipe library gets used every week because you never run out of new things to cook.

  • Organization matters more than content. Recipes alone are worthless if you can't find what you need in under 10 seconds. Structure by macro/cuisine/meal type, not just alphabetically.

  • A community beats a static file. I added a chat so buyers can swap substitutions and post what they made — turns a one-time download into something people actually come back to.

If you're a meal-prepper tired of repeating meals, or you're building your own info product and want to talk structure/pricing, drop a comment.
