Why most people fail at building discipline (and what actually works)

I'm 16 and I've already restarted "new habits" probably 50 times. Wake up at 5am — lasted 3 days. Journaling — lasted a week. Cold showers — don't even ask.

Here's what I figured out: discipline isn't about motivation or willpower. Those run out. Discipline is about systems.

The 3 things that actually changed the game for me:

1. Make the habit embarrassingly small.

Don't commit to "read 1 hour a day." Commit to reading 1 page. Your brain can't say no to 1 page. Once you start, you'll do more. But the goal is just 1.

2. Track it publicly.

When nobody's watching, it's easy to skip. When people are watching, you show up. That's not weakness — that's using human psychology to your advantage.

3. Expect to fail — and plan for it.

You WILL miss days. The difference between people who build discipline and people who don't isn't perfection. It's what you do the day AFTER you mess up. Do you spiral? Or do you just... start again?

I'm documenting all 90 days of building discipline in real-time — every win, every failure, every lesson. If you're tired of starting over, come build with us.
