My name is Loretta Jefferson-Lang and I have been teaching for over 20 years. I bring dedicated experience in general, ESL, and special education instruction, professional development training, and school district-level presentations. I mirror student success (100% student growth-2023-2024 TIA Scorecard) and instill the same values in the teachers I serve, mentor, and train.
As a certified trainer for Aldine ISD educators through the Aldine-American Federation of Teachers, I have honed my ability to cultivate excellence among teachers. My work as a campus mentor/evaluator for new teachers, in partnership with Aldine ISD (participating teachers from Iowa State University, Ball State University, and Purdue University), reflects my passion for guiding and supporting educators in their professional growth. Additionally, my role as a Special education district team lead and presenter across five schools highlights my collaborative approach to driving instructional success. I empower teachers to implement best practices by effectively utilizing the curriculum and adapting general education curricula to meet the unique needs of resource and inclusion students. Through engaging professional development sessions, I emphasize the importance of teaching simplistically, while integrating exploration and discovery to enhance learning outcomes.
I am passionate about creating engaging, stimulating lessons that lead to measurable student growth. Through the Education Leadership Research Center at Texas A&M University, I designed a Massive Open Online Professional Individualized Learning (MOOPIL) training lesson. Teachers can access this lesson on demand through the MOOPIL portal (nominated for a teaching award through Texas A & M). Also, my book “The Outcome Model Tool: Math from a Science Perspective,” has helped many teachers guide students to consider increase or decrease outcomes before working on a problem.
I possess a Master of Arts degree in Education Leadership and Supervision from the University of Phoenix, an MBA from DeVry/Keller Graduate School of Management, and a Bachelor’s degree from Xavier University in Music. Presently, I hold certifications in Education Administration (Arizona), Special Education (k-12), ESL (k-12), and General Education (k-8).
