Copying Instagram choreography will not make you stage-ready
I watch a lot of teens learn dance the same way: pick a reel, copy 8 counts, film it, post it, repeat.
That gets you views. It does not get you a stage.
On stage nobody is holding a phone in front of you. The lights are worse. The floor is different. Your friends are watching. If your shoulders are stiff and your face is blank, the combo does not save you.
What actually transfers:
Isolations first. Chest, shoulders, hips — separately. If you cannot isolate, Bollywood looks like flailing.
Footwork that you can do without looking down. If you have to watch your feet, you are not performing.
The last 8 counts. Most people dump their energy in the first 16 and die at the end. Judges and audiences remember the ending.
Practice at performance speed, then 10% slower, then performance speed again. Slow is how you fix the ugly transitions.
I built Stage-Ready Bollywood as a 4-week group class for teens and college students who want to look like they belong on a stage, not just in a story.
If that is you, join the crew. We start with the unsexy stuff on purpose.
