Here's the order that actually works:

1. Use AI to remove your bottleneck, not to think for you.

You already know what you're building. The bottleneck is usually one of: writing code, writing copy, or doing customer research. Pick the ONE that's actually slowing you down and automate that first. Don't try to AI-ify your whole business on day one.

2. Build a feedback loop before you build features.

The fastest solo founders use AI to ship a rough version, then use AI again to summarize user feedback/DMs/support tickets into patterns. That loop compounds. A polished product with no feedback loop doesn't.

3. Automate the boring 20% so you can stay in the important 80%.

Invoicing, onboarding emails, scheduling, FAQ answers — hand these to AI agents immediately. Every hour you save here goes straight back into product or sales, the two things that actually move revenue.

4. Don't outsource judgment.

Pricing, positioning, and who you're building for — keep those decisions yours. AI is great at execution, bad at knowing your market better than you do.
