THE AGENT VS THE HACKER
Be careful who you let in, but don’t leave paying customers outside in the cold.🥶 🤷🏾♀️
SMART FOUNDERS, CUP OF TEA
Chapter 0:24:
Hello my beautiful people 👋🏽
Earl Grey & oat milk with hibiscus, great for the digestion ☕️
Everyone is excited about AI agents. We spoke recently about why you'd want one, but let's get practical about what slows you down.
🚪 THE DOORS ARE ALREADY CLOSING
You send your agent out to shop or book travel, and websites are restricting access. Some block agents entirely, others treat them like suspicious visitors.
You can't blame businesses for protecting their perimeter. But if too many doors close, your agent only sees a fraction of what's out there. Rogue instruction files are already sitting in downloads, quietly telling wrong systems what to do. Be careful who you let in, both ways. Guard your perimeter, but don't shut out the good ones.🤯
🔐 TWO SIDES, BOTH OPPORTUNITIES
If you're a founder, your website needs to be agent friendly. That’s your new shop window, but security needs to be tight.
Everybody is locking doors, but nobody is managing them. Somebody has to answer and check who is coming through. That is a business waiting to be built.
💡 IDEAS FOR THE NEW ERA
Surviving this era isn't about working harder, it's about thinking inside out. Trust used to be a handshake. Now it's simpler: Is your site clear about what you sell, returns, and terms? If an agent can't read your answers, you're sending customers away.
☕️ PICK AN AGENT. DO THESE THREE THINGS:
1️⃣ Start with one job. Not fifteen. Hand over weekly quotes, follow ups, or reporting. Prove it on one task before scaling.
2️⃣ Give it real context, not a generic prompt. Draw briefs from your business knowledge base, who you serve, how you work, and what you say.
3️⃣ Watch where it goes, and lock what you don't want touched. Know exactly where your agent is being sent.
🤖 WHAT'S OUT THERE RIGHT NOW ??
Grockbot — Complex multi-step builds and bot-to-bot coordination.
Dots — Accumulated context. Carries calendar and email background without starting over.
Instinct — Autonomous travel research and check-ins.
Muse — Shopping, scoping, and Stripe-powered bookings.
Duet — Proactive scheduling and commitment flags.
Pick one. Know what it's best for. Then build.
🎯 IN SHORT
🤷🏾♀️Your competitor won't beat you with a cleverer agent. They'll beat you if their site is clearer.
🤷🏾♀️There isn't a playbook yet for managing these digital doors.
🤷🏾♀️That's an opportunity. You've got an agent. Now, how do you ensure who gets in the door? 💭
