The 3 things I look for before every scalp

Most scalpers lose because they're trading noise. Here's how I filter for high-probability setups.

1. Direction confirmation

Before I even look at a candle, I need to know the trend. I use a traffic light system — if it's not green, I'm not going long. Period. This one filter alone cut my losing trades in half.

2. Level confluence

A signal means nothing in the middle of nowhere. I only take entries at key levels where support/resistance, VWAP, or session highs/lows stack up. The more confluence, the tighter my stop can be.

3. Clean entry signal

Once direction and level line up, I wait for a confirmed entry signal. No chasing, no FOMO. The signal either fires at my level or I move on to the next setup.

This framework works on futures (ES, NQ), crypto (BTC, ETH), and stocks. It's not about catching every move — it's about catching the right ones.

I built these exact rules into my TradingView indicator so the chart does the heavy lifting for me. If you want to see how it works, check out the Algo8 Indicator Suite.
