The 3 mistakes that blow up every beginner trader's account

I've been trading for years and I've watched hundreds of beginners make the same three mistakes. Every single time.

1. Trading without a plan

You see a ticker moving, you jump in. No entry price, no stop loss, no target. That's not trading — that's gambling. Before you enter any trade, write down: entry, stop, target, position size. If you can't fill in all four, you don't take the trade.

2. Oversizing positions

New traders risk 10-20% of their account on a single trade because "this one is different." It's not. Risk 1-2% max per trade. This is the single most important rule in trading and almost nobody follows it when they start.

3. Revenge trading

You take a loss, you get emotional, you immediately enter another trade to "make it back." That second trade is almost always worse than the first. After a loss, walk away for 30 minutes minimum. Your account will thank you.

If you avoid just these three things, you're already ahead of 80% of beginners. The market isn't going anywhere — there's always another trade tomorrow.

I built Alpha Vault to help beginners skip the expensive learning curve. Real-time signals with clear entries, stops, and targets — plus a community where you can ask anything without judgment.
