Why most retail forex bots fail (and what I changed)
Most retail algo traders don't lose because their strategy is bad — they lose because of three quiet killers:
Regime blindness. A bot tuned on a trending EUR/USD window falls apart the moment volatility compresses into a range. Static parameters can't adapt. Our AI bots re-score support/resistance zones daily against current volatility regime, not a fixed lookback.
Backtest overfitting. If you can tweak a parameter until your equity curve looks perfect, you've built a curve-fit, not an edge. We run every strategy through walk-forward validation in the backtesting toolkit before it ever touches live capital — out-of-sample data only, no exceptions.
Position sizing as an afterthought. A 60% win rate strategy can still blow an account if size isn't calculated off real volatility and account risk. Every signal ships with an automated risk calculator output, not a guess.
Fix these three and the "bot doesn't work" problem usually disappears — the bot was never the issue.
If you're building or running AI-driven forex systems and want tools that handle this by default (adaptive bots, walk-forward backtesting, automated risk sizing, live alerts), that's exactly what we built AlphaForge AI for.
