The Beginner's Gym Cheat Sheet (Stop Overcomplicating It)
Most beginners quit the gym within 3 months. Not because they're lazy — because they get overwhelmed.
Here's the truth nobody tells you: you don't need a complicated program to get strong. You need 4-5 movements, done consistently, with progressive overload.
Here's your starter template:
Day A (Upper)
Barbell row - 3x8
Bench Press - 3x8
Overhead Press - 3x10
Tricep push downs - 3x12
Bicep curls - 3x12
Day B (Lower)
Squats - 3x5
RDL - 3x8
Leg Extensions - 3x10
Hamstring Curl - 3x12
Alternate Upper/Lower, 3 days per week. Add 5lbs each week. That's it.
The secret sauce isn't the program — it's showing up 3x a week for 6 months straight. Everything else is noise.
If you want guided programming, form checks, nutrition coaching, and a community of beginners who actually show up — that's what I built Apex Fitness for.
