A few things that moved the needle more than any link-building campaign:

Fix indexation first. If Google isn't crawling your key pages efficiently, nothing else matters. Check your coverage report before writing a single blog post.
Match search intent, not keyword volume. A 500-search/mo keyword that converts beats a 5,000-search/mo keyword that doesn't match what you sell.
Internal linking is free authority. Most sites have zero strategy here. Your highest-authority pages should be linking down to the pages you actually want to rank.
Page speed is a ranking AND conversion lever. Fixing Core Web Vitals often lifts both metrics at once.
