The 3 on-chain signals I check before I ever look at a chart
Most people learn crypto TA backwards — they stare at candles first and check fundamentals never. After a few years of trading through multiple cycles, here's the on-chain checklist I run before any trade idea, chart included:
1. Exchange net flows. If a large amount of an asset is flowing OUT of exchanges, that's accumulation — holders are moving to cold storage, not prepping to sell. Net inflows to exchanges is often a precursor to selling pressure.
2. Whale wallet concentration changes. Watch wallets holding 1,000+ ETH or equivalent. When top wallets are steadily accumulating during a chop/dip, it's usually smart money loading up while retail is scared out.
3. Funding rates on perps. Wildly positive funding = overleveraged longs = liquidation cascade risk on any dip. Wildly negative funding in an uptrend = shorts getting squeezed, which can fuel continuation.
None of these predict price alone. But stacked together, they tell you whether the market structure agrees with what the chart is showing you — or whether you're about to get faked out.
I break these down daily for Apex Crypto Signals members alongside entries/exits. If you want the checklist run for you every day, come find us.
