Know Yourself

The most important spiritual defense is within you. When you are working on yourself daily, implementing the three factors (death of harmful actions, birth of virtuous actions, and sacrifice for others), not only do you acquire knowledge of your weaknesses so you can change them, you also attract protection from positive forces.

Stated simply, if we have conflict or problems around us, it is because we have them within us. If we change what is within us, our circumstances will then change. That is why all real change begins inside.

Leo: July 23 - August 22

Dear Lights,

We now enter into the constellation of Leo, the house of the Sun and the sign that governs the heart. Just as the Sun is the heart of our solar system, the human heart is the spiritual center of our own inner universe.

This month, focus your practice on awakening the wisdom of the heart. Through meditation, learn to quiet the restless mind and listen to the voice of your Inner Master—the divine presence that speaks through intuition, insight, and the Voice of the Silence. As we learn to trust this inner guidance, we begin to live with greater clarity, peace, and purpose.

We encourage you to learn more about and practice the three stages of inner meditation:

1. Perfect Concentration

2. Perfect Meditation

3. Perfect Samadhi

We also recommend working with frankincense, the incense traditionally associated with Leo.
