3. Book — When you're ready to ride, reach out directly and we'll get you set up.

Rented a lot of cars. Helped a lot of travelers avoid headaches. Here's what I see people mess up over and over:

1. Booking last minute at the airport counter. You'll pay 2-3x what you would have if you planned ahead. The convenience tax is real.

2. Not checking the car before driving off. Walk around the vehicle. Take photos. Note every scratch and dent. This takes 3 minutes and can save you hundreds in damage claims.

3. Ignoring the fuel policy. "Full-to-full" is standard, but some places charge a premium to refuel for you. Always return it full.

4. Skipping the right vehicle for the trip. A compact might save money, but if you're driving mountain roads with 4 people and luggage, you need something bigger. Match the car to the journey.

5. Not having a backup plan. Cars break down. Flights get delayed. Know the rental company's roadside policy before you need it.
