Why most intimate care products are doing more harm than good (and what to check on the label)
I started BabyAnna's Boutique & Beauty Palace after years of dealing with irritation from "feminine hygiene" products that are honestly just harsh soap in fancy packaging.
Here's what most people don't know: the skin in this area is more sensitive than your face, but the industry standard is to load these products with fragrance, sulfates, and a pH that's way too alkaline (skin down there wants to sit around 3.5-4.5, most body washes are 9+).
A few things I check before trusting any intimate product:
No "fragrance" or "parfum" on the ingredient list — it's a catch-all term that can hide dozens of irritants
pH-balanced, specifically formulated for that area — not just diluted body wash
No sulfates (SLS/SLES) — they strip the natural barrier that protects against irritation and imbalance
Patch test anything new for 24-48 hours
If you've been dealing with recurring irritation and assumed it was just "normal," it might genuinely be your products, not your body. Happy to answer questions if anyone wants to dig into ingredients on something they're using.
