5 Pieces of Gym Gear That Actually Changed My Training
Most gym gear is a waste of money. But these 5 items genuinely made a difference in my performance.
1. Wrist wraps for heavy pressing days
If you're benching or overhead pressing without wrist wraps, you're leaving stability (and weight) on the table. The difference on anything above 80% of your max is night and day.
2. A quality lifting belt (not the cheap Amazon ones)
A real 10mm leather belt that molds to your body over time. The lever ones are convenient, but a prong belt gives you more adjustment room between bulking and cutting.
3. Resistance bands for warm-ups
Not for the workout itself — for activation. 2 minutes of banded pull-aparts and face pulls before upper body saves your shoulders long-term.
4. Chalk > Gloves. Always.
Gloves add thickness to the bar, kill your grip development, and look terrible. Liquid chalk is the move if your gym doesn't allow the block stuff.
5. A shaker bottle that doesn't leak
Sounds basic, but if your gym bag has ever been destroyed by a leaking shaker, you know. Invest in one with a proper seal.
