Beyond The Bounce

The playbook for affiliates sitting on dead offers. Diagnose the bounce, fix the page, resurrect the payout.

If bounce is 70%, stop buying traffic

Affiliates love to declare an offer dead. Commissions dry up, the manager says “seasonal,” and everyone goes hunting for a new product.

Most of the time the product is fine. The first screen is arguing with the ad.

Run this before you kill anything. Open the live page on your phone, LTE, cold cache. You have eight seconds. A stranger who just tapped your ad has to answer three questions without thinking:

  1. Am I in the right place?

  2. What do I get if I stay?

  3. What do I tap next?

If any of those is fuzzy, you do not have an offer problem. You have a continuation problem. The headline should complete the ad in the same words — not introduce a brand.

The 2026 version of this is worse. Half the pages in a niche were drafted by the same model, same teal button, same “finally” headline. Buyers bounce from sameness the way they used to bounce from pop-ups.

Speed is trust now. Redirect chains, cookie walls on the headline, autoplay heroes — those are bounce ads you are paying for.

Do not scale a 70% bounce. Volume multiplies the leak. Fix the first screen, then decide if the offer actually died.
