Why I Built This Course (And Who It's For)
After 10+ years coaching stand-up paddleboard athletes and studying martial arts, I kept noticing the same thing: the best throwers have elite balance, and the best paddleboarders have elite body awareness — but almost nobody was cross-training between the two.
Osoto-gari (the major outer reap) is one of judo's most fundamental throws. It demands precise weight shifting, hip rotation, and single-leg stability — the exact same skills that separate good paddleboarders from great ones.
So I built a system that uses the SUP as a training tool for throw mechanics, and the throw as a diagnostic tool for board balance.
This course is for you if:
You're an intermediate SUP athlete looking to level up your balance and body control
You're a martial artist who wants to train throws in a completely new environment
You're a coach or trainer looking for a cross-training methodology that actually works
You're curious about where two very different disciplines intersect
What you'll learn:
The complete kuzushi → tsukuri → kake sequence (on land AND water)
A 4-stage progression protocol for transferring any technique to unstable surfaces
SUP-specific drills that expose and fix balance weaknesses you didn't know you had
A final knowledge check to certify your understanding
The course is $295/month with a free 1-day trial so you can see the quality before committing.
