The 5 mistakes that kill most clothing brands before they sell a single shirt

I've watched dozens of people try to start clothing brands. Most of them quit within 3 months β€” not because the market is too competitive, but because they made the same avoidable mistakes.

1. Starting with a logo instead of a niche. Your logo doesn't matter if nobody knows who your brand is for. Pick a specific audience first. "Streetwear" is not a niche. "Minimalist workwear for remote workers who actually leave the house" is.

2. Ordering 500 units on the first run. Start with 24-48 pieces. Prove the demand exists before you bet your savings on inventory. Print-on-demand is fine for testing designs β€” there's no shame in it.

3. Ignoring the math. If your blank tee costs $8, printing costs $5, and you sell for $25, you're making $12 before shipping, packaging, returns, and ads. Know your margins cold before you launch.

4. Waiting for everything to be "perfect." Your first drop will be imperfect. That's fine. The brands that win are the ones that ship, learn, and iterate. Version 1 funds version 2.

5. No community, no repeat buyers. A clothing brand without a community is just a store. Build an audience before you launch. Give people a reason to care about you, not just your product.

If you want the full playbook β€” from picking your niche to your first sale β€” that's exactly what Brand Blueprint covers.

Welcome to Brand Blueprint πŸ‘•

You're in. Here's how to get the most out of this:

1. Start the course β€” Head to the Clothing Brand Blueprint Course tab. Work through it in order. Each chapter builds on the last.

2. Join the community β€” Drop into the Community chat. Introduce yourself, share what kind of brand you want to build. This is where you'll find accountability partners and get feedback.

3. Share your progress β€” As you hit milestones (picking your niche, getting your first sample, landing your first sale), post about it. Wins get celebrated here.

This course was built for people with zero fashion experience who want a real second income. No fluff, just the exact steps.

Let's build your brand.
